Sweet Dreams

So, we kind of have a lot of music we want to write. We've been jumping back and forth between songs and not really sticking to one and finishing it.

SO. I am posting this to hold myself responsible and accountable for finishing this potentially beautiful, romantic lullaby that Gregory wrote lyrics for. The song is called "Sweet Dreams". I think I've come up with a good melody for it... which means! That the song should be finished before I leave for BYU.

You hear me?? The song will be done before school begins.

That's a promise, Mr. Frodo.

What Will We Become?

This is a song I wrote in April. I just barely put notes with it. Email if you want to hear the demo. Thanks!
    - Greg

" What Will We Become?"

We started out as acquaintances
We started out as friends
You waited for me to break down your walls,
So I did.
You waited for me to give you my soul
While I waited for yours.
I gave you all I have to give
You don't seem to care.

Look at the Legacy we built
Is it falling out?
Think of all the times we spent,
Are they over?
What have I done?
What will we become?

We were brought together by friends
We built ourselves, by ourselves.
I did everything I possible could
you watched.
I tried to make you laugh.
I tried to make you smile.
I've done all that I can,
so what are you going to do?

Look at the Legacy we built
Is it falling out?
Think of all the times we spent,
Are they over?
What have I done?
What will we become?

Should I give up?
This can't be the end.
Friends don't end like this
Can we pass the test?
I love you more
than you'll ever know.
I'll work
to make it work.

Look at the Legacy we built
Is it falling out?
Think of all the times we spent
Are they over?
What have I done?
What will we become?

What have I done?
What will we become?

What will we become?

My Sunrise

Well friends that read this,
or in other words, no one yet. I wrote another song this past Sunday. It took me about three hours and I'm quite satisfied. It is called My Sunrise. It's all about the birth of someones testimony and how it is dark before, but when you finally gain that testimony it is like a sunrise and you are born of God. The lyrics will be after this, and if you care to hear I can send you the preliminary recording. Just comment with your email. You're welcome.

My Sunrise

So long the roads of darkness crossed my path
So long the pain and anger clouded my mind.
Till the day he said, “You have all that I have.”
Till the day his love changed my life.
The light rushed in.
And the dark fled out.

This is my sunrise
This ends my night.
This is my rebirth.
This is my new life.
I see the sunlight
I see the day
I see my savior
I see the way
I am born of God.

So long my sins have stopped me on the way.
So long all my mistakes have put me in the fray.
Till the day I found his mercy and forgiveness
Till the day I found his everlasting light.
The light rushed in

and the dark fled out.

This is my sunrise
This ends my night.
This is my rebirth.
This is my new life.
I see the sunlight
I see the day
I see my savior
I see the way
I am born of God.

O Jesus Christ
Save my life
I cannot do it without thee,
I cannot do it alone.
(Repeat 4x)

Key Change

You are my Sunrise.
You end my night.
You are my Rebirth.
You are my New Life.
You are the Sunlight.
You are the Day.
You are my Savior
You are the way
I am born of God.

Here it is!

Oh hey. Shanelle here.

So, silly Blogger here won't let us upload any sort of convenient thing that will allow you to hear our song "His Light Will Guide You".  However, I've done the unspeakable and uploaded it to YouTube. It's not the best recording in the world because I used just a normal camera to record it, but at least it's available to those who are interested in hearing it. The lyrics are in the post below this one. If you want a better copy, email us. Please enjoy! And stay tuned for upcoming projects!

His Light Will Guide You.

Story of the song:
In August of 2010, my stake informed us that we could write and submit songs for a CD for AFY (my youth conference.) From then I decided that I would be writing a song for AFY. I asked Shanelle about it and we didn't really do much about it. It was do on January 31, well, we missed that date, but we had another chance. We worked hard for weeks often times we would write and practice during lunch when we could. Well Shanelle finished the first draft of the song on March 17, 2011. We then recorded it in May and got in on our Youth Conference CD. Once again if you would like a copy email us at gsmusicalexploits@yahoo.com, and comment to let us know you emailed us there, and I will send it to you.
The meaning of the song came from the inspiration of God. My Dad gave me a Father's Blessing in January and in it he told me to study light, so I read almost every scripture in the Book of Mormon about light, and Shanelle and I chose a couple and that's where things like "His light will guide you through the wilderness . . ." come from. The song is about how we have hard times in life, but Christ's light always pulls us through. It's about how his light has saved us. It's also about how when we trust in Christ's light we always win. You will always win the battle when you trust in Christ. Thank You, and enjoy the song if you want it.

Lyrics:

His Light Will Guide You

What do you do when every day is a battle?
Who do you be when you’re lost in the struggle?
Fighting along, you feel all alone,
till you find his light, and you find he is home.

Be strong, be true.
His light will guide you through the wilderness.
Have faith look on.
To the light that’s been there all along.
You’ll see the light has saved you and me.

What do you do when they’re winning the battle?
Who is your strength when you’re lost in the struggle?
Don’t give up now, you’re not alone.
Keep holding on till the fight you have won.

Be strong, be true.
His light will guide you through the wilderness.
Have faith look on.
To the light that’s been there all along.
You’ll see the light has saved you and me.

He is your savior.
He is your king.
His light has saved us, so we are free.
Don’t forget he’s been what you’ve been through,
you can conquer darkness because he will cling to you.

Be strong, be true.
His light will guide you through the wilderness.
Have faith look on.
To the light that’s been there all along.
You’ll see the light has saved you and me.

Hey Guys,
This is Greg. Well I thought you I would let those of you that don't know that Shanelle and I wrote our first song a few months ago. Well we want everyone to hear. Unfortunately we have not found a way to make it available for listen or download. Anyway, if you are interested in getting a copy of it, then please comment on this post if you would like it and leave your email address and email me at gsmusicalexploits@yahoo.com. Oh ya it is called "His Light Will Guide You." Shanelle and I wrote it together, but I did most of the words and the tune and she did all the piano. Shanelle and I together probably spent 70 hours plus on this song. Comment on your opinions about it please, and follow us too. We are working on other songs and we will be writing about them, we will also just write about all of our musical events that are happening, such as concerts, favorite bands, recitals, etc. Thanks, I hope you like it if you ask for it. Have the Best Day Ever!!!!!!!
